Symantec™ Mail Security for Microsoft® Exchange provides high-performance, integrated mail protection against virus threats, spam, and security risks, and enforces company content policies on Microsoft® Exchange 2000/2003 servers. Symantec™ Premium AntiSpam can be added to provide extremely accurate spam detection without additional administration, installation, or hardware by simply purchasing and installing a license key. Protection against spyware and adware helps further mitigate security risks.

Symantec antivirus technology defends against new and known viruses and security risks. Attachment and subject line blocking capabilities and support for hourly definition updates enable hour-zero responses against emerging threats. Mass-Mailer Cleanup eliminates messages from mass mailer/worm sources. With integrated LiveUpdate™ and Rapid Release functionality, virus definitions can be deployed enterprise-wide without stopping scan services or incurring server downtime.

Basic spam tools include heuristics-based detection, custom filtering rules, and real-time blacklists and Whitelisting.
